Tasmin Fanning, Women's Cross Country, Sr., Charlottesville, Va.
Fanning made history at the 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships on
Nov. 24, earning the highest finish ever for a Hokie runner, male or
female, placing third in a 6k career-best time of 19:37.1, only nine
seconds behind three-time champion Sally Kipyego of Texas Tech. The
Charlottesville, Va., native captured her second-straight All-America
honor, becoming the only Hokie to win two All-America honors in his/her
cross country career. The senior finished her cross country career as
one of the most decorated runners in Tech history.
